The year started off on a positive staffing note, with the hiring of Deborah Clark, the new ACE Coordinator. She will be handling the office duties as well as the Events and fundraising.
Plans are underway to mentor two youths through the Aboriginal Youth Internship Program, operated by Fire Spirit, this spring and hopefully parlay those positions into summer jobs for the interns.
Youcandoit.com designed the ACE website. They have been working with Deborah Clark to make the site even more open and flexible. The changes will make it easier to keep the information current and allow for more communication.
The ACE newsletter has gone green. We are being kinder to the environment and will be producing a bi-monthly newsletter. You don't have to be a member to sign up for the newsletter although all members are automatically signed up the e-newsletter and information update mailings. If you don't wish to receive the e-newsletter, simply click 'Unsubscribe " located at the end of the email or on the website.
Thank you to all that participated in making this year's 4th Annual "Honouring Our Traditions, Celebrating Our Future" Banquet Awards and the 7th Annual "Hearing Our Voices" Conference a huge success.
